Joan Carol Wimsatt

Joan Carol Wimsatt, 80, a resident of Boston, Kentucky, affectionately known as Granny, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. Born on July 18, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, Joan lived a life filled with warmth, strength and joy. Joan graduated from Shawnee High School in 1962 and pursued her passion for beauty by attending beauty school, she dedicated her career to General Electric in Louisville, where she worked diligently until her retirement. An avid animal lover, Joan cherished her dogs and horses, finding great pleasure in riding and showing them, she also enjoyed quilting and playing games on her tablet. Joan was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, known for her great sense of humor and ever-present smile, Joan was a strong woman who treasured time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Her laughter and love left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn Mulhall, Marion & Mary Melone and Vernon Farris; her siblings, Johnny Cecile and Jerry Melone and a nephew, Gary Wayne. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Brown and Dawn Jerles (Bruce) her grandchildren, Derrick Hill (Tiffany) and Taylor Jerelden Jerles (Lacey); her great~grandchildren, Chase and Benjamin Hill; and her sisters, Janet Farris and Vicki Sanders.

A small family memorial will be held in her honor.
