

John Edward Bramer Sr., 68, of Louisville, passed away January 26, 2026. He was retired from Norton Healthcare and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He was a 1975 graduate of Bishop David High School, where he was #75 defensive tackle for four years. He then continued his football career as a walk on for University of Louisville, and he played for the Tracker Backers, a semi-pro team. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan, boater, bass fisherman, and 4x4 fanatic.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Bramer; and stepfather, Gerald Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Bramer; mother, MaryAnn Bramer-Thompson; sons, John "Jay" Bramer(Jessica) and Joseph "Joe" Bramer; grandchildren, Adalyn, Connor, Trenton, Paislee, and Carter; brothers, Ronald "Ronnie" Bramer(Ellen), David Bramer(Marcella), and Daniel "Danny" Bramer(Teresa); as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, located at 1925 Lewiston Dr. Louisville, KY. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 3pm-8pm Friday, February 6, 2026 at Evergreen Funeral Home. All visitation and funeral guests are encouraged to wear their University of Kentucky or blue attire. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or Mass of the Air.
