His brother, Bill Rasmussen also preceded him in passing.
The Rasmussen family moved to Kentucky when Jack was twelve years old. He continued his education at Southern High School and continuing his education at Bellarmine University, where he graduated with an accounting degree. He began his career joining General Electric as an Tax Accountant. Before graduation, he met the love of his life Donna Flechler, on a blind date. The spent 61 years together creating a beautiful life with two daughters. During their life together, Jack was a Kentucky Colonel and devout Catholic. Jack worked at GE for twenty six years, creating many friends and became an official member of "The Lunch Bunch". Until this day, they meet every Tuesday at The Hungry Pelican, where they laughed and enjoyed each others company.
Here to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Donna Rasmussen, two daughters; Lynn (Donnie) Pfost and Julie (Mike) Haysley, six grandchildren; Katie (Le'Michael) Fields, Adam Stine, Dylan (Jordan) Pfost, John (Karra) Pfost, Kirsten Haysley, Kelsey (Julius) Haysley, and six great grandchildren; Harper, Levi, Remy, Alayna, Olivia, Tripp, and his beloved dogs; Jasper and Zoey.
Visitation will occur on Thursday, March 6th from 2PM-8PM at Arch L. Heady and Son Westport, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222. Prayers at the funeral home on Friday, March 7th from 9AM-9:30AM, with procession to St. Bernadette for the Funeral Mass at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack's honor the Louisville Humane Society.
The family would like for all to know, "Jack never met a bush he didn't want to move!"
