In his senior year of High school, the United States Army drafted him and he served two years in the Philippines. He then went on to earn degrees from Southwest Missouri Baptist College and William Jewell College before getting his law degree from the University of Louisville. John also served as a Deacon at Okolona Baptist Church for sixty years and served as a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 72 for many years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of seventy years, Wylene Conway, children, John Wayne Sage(Darlene), Pamela Sue “Suzie” Schmoyer(Andy), Jeffrey Alan Sage(Tina): four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother David and one sister, Margaret.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11am at Okolona Baptist Church, 9301 Preston Hwy. Louisville, Kentucky 40229 with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
