He was a World War II Navy veteran and later retired as a foreman after 31 years of service at International Harvester. He was a deacon at Farmdale Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and witnessed for Christ.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Anthaleen; sons, Joseph R. Brunson Jr. and Douglas Lynn; daughters, Teri, Kathy and Cindy; stepsons, Bobby Goodman and Bobby Maras; stepdaughter, Chyerl; brother, Warren Brunson; two sisters, Pat Woods and Dorothy Maymon; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Brunson will be 10 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday.
