

Joseph A. McCauley was born on June 10, 1944 in Louisville to the late Charles Henry and Alma Louise (Hardesty) McCauley and passed from this life on Saturday February 17, 2024. He Graduated from DeSales High School and then received a degree from the University Of Louisville. Joe served in the Marines during Vietnam and was employed for the US Postal Service. He attended Alcoholics Anonymous and had been sober 18 years at the time of his death. The family thanks his friends, especially Wanda and Jan and Seven Oaks residents for their care over the years. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carla McCauley; brothers, Timothy, Dennis “Clement”, Vernard "Vernie", and Danny; and a sister Angela McCauley. He is survived by his sons, Tom and Joey McCauley; and a daughter, Monica Sivori (Michael); brothers, Gerald and Cletus McCauley; sisters, Mary Gagel (Butch), and Bonnie Hellums (Ron); 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. A funeral Mass for Joe will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday March 5, 2024 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road. Burial with military honors will follow in KY Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be on Monday March 4, 2024 from 4-8 pm at the Arch L. Heady & Son Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Memorial gifts may be made to Mass of the Air.
