

June Avery Jeanes, born on June 21, 1927 passed away on December 7, 2020. Wife of Louis Jeanes. They had one daughter, Iva Jeanes Frank. Parents were Richard and Iva Avery. She had three siblings, Richard, Doris and Donald. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law, Blaine Avery.
She started working at the age of 16 for AT&T and retired after 40 years of service. She was a life long Democrat and a proud daughter of a Union Organizer for Colgate and saw her brother Richard, become President of that very Union. She liked to have a joke to tell when she met you. If you were one of the lucky ones, a song to go with that joke.
She was a strong, capable, depression era child. She had many talents, hobbies and interests. She continued to grow and expand her horizons throughout her life. A lifelong Catholic and was able to receive her last rites on December 7, 2020.
There will be no service due to the Coronavirus. If you would like to remember her, we would ask that you make a contribution to the charity of your choice in her name. We live in a time of great need and knowing that she was helping others would give her joy.
Arrangements under the direction of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village. An inurnment was held at Calvary Cemetery.
