Larry L. Cairns

Larry L. Cairns, 82, of Monticello, Kentucky & formerly of Louisville, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
Larry attended Manual High School and was part of the Class of 1958, he then went on to advance his studies at UK and then U of L, graduating with an Engineering Degree. Larry was an Army veteran who served in Korea. Larry lived life to the fullest. He was an avid runner and participated in many marathons, including two Boston Marathons. Larry had other interests that included golfing, boating, and watching U.K. sports. Larry retired after 35 years of dedicated service at International Harvester. He had many friends and was loved by all. Most of all, he loved his family, friends and America.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Betty Cairns; & brother, Bruce Cairns.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Ramona Cairns (NEE, Vanoy); daughter, Tamara Cairns; grandson, Dylan Hunt; several nieces & nephews; his dog, Lake; his cat; Killer; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Memorial donations can be made in honor of Larry to Tunnel to Towers.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home with his Eulogy delivered by Tom Carr, a special cousin. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until the Funeral Hour of 5:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
