Larry R. Weikel, 58, of Louisville, passed away suddenly on the afternoon of March 28, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East with his family by his side. He owned and operated Larry Weikel Creekrock Concrete Company. Larry was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, an avid hunter, fisherman, camper and boater. He loved to go on cruises, work in his garden, and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dorothy Eisenback Weikel.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 38 years, Laura Higgins Weikel; children,Larry Robert (Desiree), Christina Lea, Craig Joseph and Cheryl Ann Weikel; grandson, Triston Bryant Weikel; brothers, Gene, Dennis and Richard Weikel, and sisters, Shirley Goldsmith and Denise Coleman.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 8409 Hudson Lane, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road.
