Lila Veronica Boone

Lila Veronica Boone, 91, entered into eternal life September 3, 2015, peacefully at her home. She was born October 28, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Jerimiah and Lillian Creedon. Lila received her nursing degree from The Little Company of Mary Hospital in Chicago, and retired from Veterans Hospital in Louisville after 35 years of providing compassionate care. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Francis E. Boone; her parents; and her sisters, Lorraine Butler and Margie Dolan. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters-in-law, Susan Davis and Aurelia Cecil; numerous nieces and nephews, including many great nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Mandy. Lila was an avid swimmer, reader, Red Hat Lady, and she cherished her friends from her ceramic group. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Lila's life will be held 11am Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 6000 Preston Hwy., with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8pm Tuesday at Evergreen Funeral Home. The family would like to thank her special and very supportive neighbors, Cassandra, Barbara, and Al, as well as Nikki and Brittany for their loving care during Lila's illness.
