Happy Mother’s Day!  I know many years have passed by but it’s hasn’t changed how much I truly miss you. I’ve had some major changes in my life that I know you’ve been right there with me just like always. I hold you very dear to my heart everyday & couldn’t have asked for a better Mom....Love you!! To the entire Holzheimer family,

I'll be honest, I'm not sure if this note will adequately express my level of gratitude and love for Lois (and the entire family as well), but I'm going to do my best. 

Growing up, the Holzheimer home was more than the house Mark lived at; it was the hub of the neighborhood. it was Grand Central Station; a haven we spent as much time at as our own homes. It truly felt like an extension of our own home. We never felt judged or unwanted; we always were made to feel like we were part of the family. I remember we were never asked to leave at meal time; and we were never asked if we would like to eat- we were simply handed a plate. What a wonderful place it was for all of us... always abuzz with laughter and love. 

At the center of it all were Lois and Henry. They were so kind; welcoming, warm and loving. Without question, many of the happiest memories of my life are from that time we spent there... in elementary, middle and high school while growing up; running around in and around thier house on South Hubbards. 

When I was in the Navy I would lay at night as we churned through some foreign ocean thinking about the neighborhood and my friends, of being at the Holzheimers house in thier driveway playing basketball with Mark and it would temporarily drive away the homesickness. I would feel like I was home in that moment. It was- and in a lot of ways will always be my "happy place". 

We are all now grown with children of our own, but the memories have not faded. Lois's legacy walks with us always, as we travel throughout our lives. I know that we are better parents to our children because of the grace and graciousness we learned from Lois and Henry both. I think sometimes of how my kids wont have the priviledge of knowing her or Henry... but then again, I understand that we carry thier legacy every day we live. And through those stories, memories and values we have she and Henry live on. 



Lois, you will be missed dearly. May your life be celebrated always

I grew up a couple houses from Lois & Henry's house and became friends with Mark at a young age, we were still both in St. Matthews Elementary.  Lois and Henry were second parents, not only to me, but also to Mark's other friends.  I'll never forget the kindness, graciousness, accommodating, and loving feeling we'd get just walking in the front door.  And if you dared knock Henry would just stare at you from his chair with that "How dare you not just welcome yourself in this house" and Louis would have that big smile on her face.  I must have been in that house over thousands of times and I think I only knocked the first time.  The Holzheimer house was always full of family and friends, which is a testament to the love that was always flowing from Henry and Louis, even though Henry usually tried to keep his tough guy face on.  I will miss Louis tremendously.  As I do Henry.  
Mark, I wish I could be there for you right now the way you and the guys were there for me back in the day.  Please reach out to me Mark whenever you feel like it.

TO  ALL OF LOIS' FAMILY.
Your Mom meant so much to me.  We worked together for years and years at Graft-Pelle Co. and talked over everything.  

Even though she retired in 1996, everone still has a "OLD LO" story and we laugh...and your Mom loved to laugh.

She seemed to keep upbeat and laugh through  all of her trials and tributions over the years.  

She loved All of her family so much.
And you all are a part of my life too,
as I heard so many of the stories about all of you over the years.

"Poor old Henry"  was such a sweet man and I know they are together now.  I still have a Teddy Bear that he gave me years ago.

I no this isnt the same as sitting in the living room at home or being in your room an telling you face to face but I wont you to no that i love you an you were an are the glue that holds me together.
