Loretta Reeves

Her husband, Marvin Reeves, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, November 2, 2024 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on Thursday, April 26, 1945.

They met in Corbin, Kentucky many years ago, were married on January 4th, 1964 and had been married for more than 50 years. Over the years they moved around searching for work before finally settling down in Louisville, Kentucky in the 1970s.

They both worked for the JCPS Board of Education until retiring, Marvin an office machine technician and Loretta a custodian for the schools. They both enjoyed traveling, cooking, animals, being with family and would do anything for anyone. They were very giving people. Marvin enjoyed tinkering around the house, there wasn’t anything he could not fix. Loretta was very creative and loved making dolls. They were both very strong people who stayed strong throughout all the ups and downs life can throw at you.

They had three children, DeLisa Melinda Rose, Sherry Ann Perkins, and Barry Dean Reeves.

They are survived by two of their children, DeLisa and Barry; Grandchildren, Holly Burton, Cody Reeves, Brandon Rose, Todd Rose, Alex Rose, Zachary Rose; and great grandchildren, Aria Rose, Ava Wood and Xaiver Brown. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

They are preceded in death by their daughter, Sherry.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Heady Memorial Chapel of the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home - Okolona Chapel. Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the Memorial Hour of 5:00 p.m. also at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home - Okolona Chapel.
