Lucia Lay Maxson, 91, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018. She was born in Taft, California, in 1926 and raised in Ripon, Wisconsin. She graduated from Ripon College and the Art Institute of Chicago. Lucia had a long career as a commercial artist, and continued free-lancing after she retired. She painted throughout her lifetime and lives on through the masterpieces that she created.
Lucia is preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Lay.
Lucia is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ralph Maxson; her sons, David Maxson (Susan) and Doug Maxson (Kate); her daughters, Mimi Maxson and Kimberly Maxson Smith (Carl); her grandchildren, Raphael Maxson, and Sam and Caroline Smith.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join the family and friends of Lucia Maxson in celebrating her life on June 2, 2018. Lucia's celebration of life will take place at 440 Main in Bowling Green, KY from 2-4 pm.
