She was born February 28, 1925 in Louisville, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Nall) O’Keefe. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Braden in 1996; two brothers, William O’Keefe (Erma) and Patrick O’Keefe; a son-in-law, William Higgins and one grandson, William Higgins, Jr.
Margaret was a woman of faith and attended church regularly until her health kept her from attending. She also enjoyed playing Bunco for over 60 years.
Survivors include her 6 daughters, Sandra Day (Ron), Jerry Perry (David), Mary Lou Higgins, Patricia Alvey (Nathan), Paula Braden, Pam Braden (Darryle Hall); 9 grandchildren, Curt, Shannon, Beth, Monica, Audrey, Cassie, Mary Beth, Jena and Tyler; 19 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Hunter, Grayson, Georgia, Cameron, Destiny, Dustin, Jordan, Braden, Lyla, Bobby, Nathan, Kit, Bennett, Jocelyn, Douglas, Oliver, McKenna and Asher; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Quinton and Ezra; one brother, Michael O’Keefe (Mary); former sister-in-law, Teresa O’Keefe; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
