Mark Martin Kunitsky

Born July 23, 1955 in Youngstown, Ohio to Anthony and Anne Kunitsky, he spent some of his youth in Germany where his family was stationed before settling in Louisville, KY. Mark graduated from Valley High School in Louisville, KY in 1973. He received a scholarship to Brescia College and graduated with a degree in Biology. He continued his education, receiving the Mallinckrodt Award of Excellence in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Louisville and graduated with a degree in Nuclear Medicine. Mark had many friends and colleagues working at University of Louisville Hospital, Norton Southwest Hospital, and Jewish Hospital South. Mark will always be remembered as being incredibly funny, kind, and generous.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Anthony and Anne Kunitsky, and nephew, Jonathan Wesley Springmier.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Sandy Kunitsky; brother, Tony (Susan) Kunitsky; sisters-in-law, Kimberly Springmier and Jenifer Cecil; nieces and nephews, Meredith (Javier) Guerra, JR Cecil, Jordan Springmier, Hope Cecil and Nick Kunitsky.

No visitation will be held. A celebration of Mark’s life will be planned at a later date with friends and family. Until that time please share a favorite memory of Mark.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Vincent de Paul Louisville.
