On November 29, 2025, the world lost an extraordinary man, Marvin "Pete" Flanders, age 99, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 26, 1926, he lived nearly a century filled with kindness, humor, and unwavering strength. He was the true definition of a good person — someone who made everyone around him feel seen, valued, and cared for.
Known for his quick wit and the way he could make anyone laugh, he brightened every room he walked into. His hobbies were buying & selling cars, trading knives & guns and making deals.
Throughout his 99 remarkable years, he touched countless lives. Family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers felt the warmth of his generosity and the sincerity of his heart. He was deeply loved, endlessly respected, and cherished more than words can express.
He leaves behind Barbara Moore, his right hand and amazing daughter, his grandchildren Dawnyel Moore and Ryan Sale (Brooke) and great grandchildren Briahna Getman and Dylan Sale, his good friend Larry Oliver, along with many others who will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years: Luceda "Lou” Flanders , his daughter Debbie Sale and son-in-law Bill Moore, along with his parents, four older sisters and many other family and friends.
Though he will be missed beyond measure, his legacy of love, laughter, and goodness will live on in every person lucky enough to have known him.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, December 5, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2pm-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
