

Bryant, Mary Anne (Quinlan) 87, October 14, 1927 to August 27, 2015. At 4:30 pm, Mary Anne peacefully transitioned to the next life. She spent her final hours surrounded by the people who loved her, and especially the most important person in her life, her only child and daughter, Susan Bryant Watkins. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her mother Doris Herfurth Quinlan Hermes, and her stepfather Arnold J. Hermes, her father, William Martin Quinlan, her sister, Joyce Mary Quinlan. Mary Anne was the great, great grand daughter of John Henry Whallen.
Born in Louisville, KY, Mary Anne spent many years travelling with her daughter as Susan pursued her career in different states. They lived in Florida for 10 years where Mary Anne stayed there in Deerfield Beach as her daughter worked on St. John, USVI for two years. They then went to Nashville, TN; Columbus, OH, and then back home to Louisville in 2002. She was a member at Saint Leonard Catholic Church.
Mary Anne loved life, and especially her daughter who was the center of her universe. For the last several years Mary Anne lived at Regis Woods Rehabilitation Center, where she never missed a mass, Bingo, party, movie or any other activity. She was well known for her big smile, sunny disposition, and especially her Bingo sweater. She loved wearing hats and never meeting a stranger.
Mary Anne is survived by her daughter Susan Bryant Watkins and her “Grand Dogs” Coco and Max, cousins Connie McCarty Horsey (Dan), Christopher McCarty (Margaret Reed), Cathy McCarty-Hendrix (Jim), and Kelly McCarty Lepping (Tony Bryant), as well as the Murphy family.
A private memorial mass will be held at a later date.
