HORRELL, MARY ELIZABETH, "AUNT MAY", 95, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Norton Hospital. She graduated from Mercy Academy in 1932 and was retired from Brown Foreman Distillery. She was a devoted Catholic and the guardian angel of the Horrell family. She burned candles and prayed daily for family members and requested special intentions. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Maude (Bates) Horrell; brothers, Joseph, William, James, and Leo Horrell; niece, Jeanette Hempfling; and nephew, Larry. Survivors include her niece, Anita Gorgas and the special care from her niece, Betty Vibert; nephews, Bill, Ron, and Jim Horrell. Miss Horrell is also survived by three additional generations of many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Celebration of her life will be 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 South 6th Street with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Thanks to everyone at Norton Hospital for the compassion and care given to her and the family.
