Mary Pence

Mary Catherine (Hayse) Pence, 78 years old, passed away on January 28, 2026, after a short illness at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 26, 1947, to Edna and Willa Mae (Byler) Hayse. Mary retired from Porter Paint (PPG) after many years of faithful service.

Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her son, Mike E. Pence; her grandparents, Carl & Margaret Byler and Eddy & Martha Hayse; her sisters, Linda Hayse, Judy Hayse and Jenny Adair; her brother, Ernest Hayse, Sr.; her nephew, Ernest Hayse, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, James Adair, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James “Jim” Pence, Jr. (Gina) and David Pence (Aimee); her granddaughter, Tanya Wilson; her grandson, Evan Pence; her great grandson, Zachary Florence; her sisters, Sherry Stewart (Paul), Sylvia Cissell (Billy), and Karen Hayse; her sister in law, Delma Brooks Hayse; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mary will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will resume the next day in the same location on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at Evergreen Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest alongside her son, Mike, at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
