Matthew Bryan Dumeyer

He was born May 19, 1981, in Louisville, the son of Buddy and Susan (Roby) Dumeyer.

Matthew was a 1999 graduate of Trinity High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree. He worked in Sales in Shipping and Logistics.

Matt had a big heart and was known for being a loyal friend and devoted son and brother. His most cherished role was being Uncle Matty. Always willing to lend support and encouragement to both friends and strangers. His laugh and smile would fill a room.

An avid golfer, Matt cherished his time on the course with his Midland Trail Family. Additionally, he treasured his adventures on the river with his friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Buddy Dumeyer (Susan Heustis) and Susan Dumeyer; his sister, Sarah Dumeyer (Joe Krock); his niece, Izzy Krock; his stepbrother, Bennett Heustis (Kate) and their son, John Henry; his step-grandfather, Harry Bohannan; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Col. Donald Dumeyer, Sr., Helen Marie Dumeyer, Bill Roby, Sally Roby Kampschaefer Bohannan and Jack Kampschaefer; and his stepbrother, Graham Heustis.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckenridge Ln., Louisville, KY 40207. A celebration of Matt’s life will be held immediately following mass at Lake Forest Lodge, 511 Woodlake Drive, Louisville, KY 40245.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to The Trinity High School Foundation, 4011 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville, KY 40207; Donor’s favorite charity or any random act of kindness.
