Born on August 21, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, Mike lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family. He proudly served in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his deep sense of duty and honor.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Stanley Edward Miller and Betty Joe (Sutton) Miller, as well as his sister, Sheryl Lynn (Miller) Bandera. Their memories, along with his own enduring legacy, continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Janice (Alore) Miller, whom he met in Michigan before eventually settling in Kentucky, where they raised their family and built a rich network of lifelong friendships. In retirement, Mike enjoyed spending time in Florida, where he found peace, sunshine, and community in a new chapter of life.
Mike is also survived by his loving children: Michael Joshua Miller and Erin Marie (Miller) Ernst, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Edward and Ellie, who affectionately knew him as “Papa.” He leaves behind his sister, Pamela Sue Miller, son-in-law Marty Ernst, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mike had a quiet passion for playing golf and watching tournaments at home, appreciating both the game’s challenges and its peaceful rhythm.
Whether through steady support, warm laughter, or his thoughtful presence, Mike made everyone around him feel deeply cared for. His legacy lives on in the values he embodied and the love he shared so generously.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, located at 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222.
