Michael Tinker

75, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

He was a retired Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA for more than 40 years. Mike was a 1963 graduate of Bellarmine University where he taught accounting in the evening division for eight years.

He was active in the Boy Scouts for 35 years, including 3 years as a Cub Master and 8 years as a Scout Master of Troop 17. As a youth he was an Eagle Scout, Explorer Silver Award recipient and was the Lodge Chief for the Zit Kala Sha Lodge of the Order of the Arrow. He was one of the founders of the soccer program for the Catholic School Athletic Association and coached St. Rita's soccer teams for 13 years, DeSales jayvee team for 2 years and numerous teams for the Okolona Soccer Club. He was the Soccer director for the CSAA from 1988 until 2011 and served on their Board of Directors since 2000.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sara Minogue Tinker; two sons, Thomas (Stephanie) and Alex (Meghan); grandchildren, Mallory, Addy, Will and Charlie; sisters Eileen Brown, Mary Lu Schardein and Paula Schenkenfelder.

Visitation will be 2-6pm Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
