

Mischa Renae Endicott, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, and admired friend, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on December 12, 1969, in Ohio, Mischa's journey through life was marked by her selfless dedication to her family, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering commitment to those she served in her professional life.
Mischa's early years were spent in the heart of Ohio, where she was raised by her parents, Gary and the late Reda Endicott. Mischa's educational endeavors led her to Moorehead for her undergraduate studies, followed by the achievement of her Master's Degree at the University of Kentucky. Her passion for helping others was evident in her choice of career, as she dedicated her life to the care and well-being of those in need.
Professionally, Mischa's journey began at Eastern State Hospital, where she first honed her skills in patient care. Her desire to impact more lives took her to Louisville, Kentucky, where she continued her calling at Central State. After a few years, Mischa made a significant transition to the VA Hospital in Louisville. It was there that she found her true vocation, assisting veterans as they transitioned back into society, providing them with the care and support they deserved. Her work was not just a job; it was a reflection of her loving and selfless nature.
Outside of her professional life, Mischa's zeal for life was unmistakable. She found solace in the great outdoors, whether it was kayaking on serene waters, camping under the stars, or feeling the thrill of a catch while fishing. Mischa's love for the open road was embodied by the wind in her hair as she rode her Harley Davidson, a symbol of her free spirit and love for adventure. Her companions on many of these trips were her beloved fur babies, Lilly and Bella, who were as much a part of her family as anyone.
A wonderful cook, Mischa believed in the power of a home-cooked meal to bring her family together. The kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where she expressed her caring nature through every dish she prepared. Her husband of 16 years, Rickey Garr, Jr., was a testament to her loving heart, as were her stepsons, Austin Garr (Emma) and Nick Garr, who she embraced as her own.
Mischa's legacy is carried on by her devoted father, Gary Endicott, her father-in-law, Rick Garr, Sr., mother-in-law Patty Garr, sister-in-law Angela Garr, brother-in-law Jason Garr, and nephew Tyler Garr. She was preceded in death by her mother, Reda, and her son, Steven Bradley Jordan Layne, who both held a special place in her heart.
Those who knew Mischa will remember her for her adventurous soul, her loving nature, and her selfless approach to life. She left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her work. Mischa Renae Endicott's story is one of compassion, strength, and an unwavering zest for life that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be treasured and her presence deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady and Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222 on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 11-2PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow visitation, beginning at 2:00PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
Mischa's family will have a private burial within Louisville Memorial Garden East Cemetery.
