Nancy C. Kurk

She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor J. Kurk, her daughter-in-law, Gina Greenwell and her brothers, Mike Simms and Lawrence Simms and a sister, Vera Monks. Nancy is survived by her children; David Greenwell (Beth), Todd Greenwell, Kay Blankenbaker (Lamar), Susie Greenwell, and a step-daughter, Kathy Kurk. Grandchildren, Jason, Danielle (Andrew), Emily (Billy), Mitch (Terra), Andrew (Stephanie), Ali (Tyler), Delaney, Dylan, Lydia (Rob) and Olivia (Josh). She's also survived by Nine great-grandchildren.

Nancy was first and foremost a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was adored by all who had the opportunity to really know her. Nancy was also ahead of her time in her career as a customer service manager in the industrial coatings field. In an industry largely dominated by men, Nancy could stand toe to toe with any of them and lead the way for women professionals in a time when there were few. She retired from AkzoNobel, the place where she also met her husband Vick. Nancy and Vick loved to travel and it wasn’t uncommon for them to jump in their car for lunch and end up at a farmers market in another state.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville KY 40222 with visitation starting after 11AM the day of the service. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
