Born on June 3, 1939 in Louisville, KY to Louie and Christine Kelley. Norma was a graduate of Southern High School. In 1957, she married the love of her life, Carlos "Buddy" Baker. During their 68 years of marriage, they had two daughters, Robin and Kelly and made cherished memories that will live in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her husband Carlos; daughters Robin (Mike) Kirkpatrick and Kelly OShea; grandchildren Kyle Kirkpatrick, Tyler (Laura Asplund) Kirkpatrick, Jacob OShea, Aaron OShea, and Jared OShea; and great-grandchild Kiley Kirkpatrick. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Barbara Schuler and Debbie Garvey, brothers, Louis Kelley and Carl Kelley.
Norma was employed at the Bank of Louisville from 1957 to 1963. Then enjoyed raising their children and home making. She was an excellent seamstress. She joined the Homemakers Club and the Garden Club in Audubon Park. Norma was also known as the "Candy Lady" as she always had candy for the children at church. She also loved to walk in her neighborhood handing out candy and dog treats. Her church was her foundation. She was an active member of Farmdale Baptist Church since 1955. There, she volunteered for various roles and always helped others. Norma was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.
A visitation will be held from 10:30am - 2pm on Thursday, January 8, 2025 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown RD., Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral will follow the visitation starting at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
