A woman of many talents, Norma enjoyed entertaining friends, family, and special guests alike with her husband in their Old Louisville home, where they lived for 25 years. Her passions included gardening and cooking, which were adored by the many who passed through her doors either on the Old Louisville Garden Tour or for one of her illustrious parties. Her kind heart cared for many animals throughout her life and her smile was always a joyous sight at Christ Church Cathedral.
In passing, she is reunited with her beloved husband of 28 years, Robert B. Laufer Jr., her cherished daughter, Stacy Forster (John), and her grandson Stephen Walker. She’s remembered fondly by her daughter, Brenda Runner; son, Steven Walker (Jennifer); stepchildren, Robert N. Laufer III (Tim Gribas) and Lisa B. Laufer; stepbrother, James Voyles; and her cat, Chester. Norma is also remembered by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her closest friends.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Joan Walker, who compassionately cared for her these last several years, and the staff at the Episcopal Church Home.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 31 from 2-4pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. A celebration of life will be at Christ Church Cathedral, 421 South Second St. on Saturday, February 1 at 11am.
