Orlando "Baby Ray" Gay, 72, of Louisville passed away on Saturday June 17, 2023. He was a member of the First Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2822, American Legion Post 45, and was an army veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, William Alfred Gay, Jr., step mother, Johnetta Finch Gay; brothers, Jeffrey Lynn Gay, Kevin Pierre Gay, and Kenny Broadus. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elizabeth Lee Gay; sister, Karen Gay; brothers, Chris and William A. Gay, III; step grandchild Ashley Ray; step great grandchild, Ashtyn Ray; a special friend Michelle Hannon-McAtee; and a very special companion, Miss “Daisy Ray”; a host of nieces & nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Gay will be held at 11am Wednesday June 28, 2023 at the First Virginia Avenue Baptist Church, 3601 Virginia Avenue. Interment with military honors will follow at KY Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 5-8 pm at his church. The family is in the care of The Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd.
