Orval C. Moore

Orval C. Moore, 91, of Shively was born on December 7, 1926 in Louisville to the late Ernest and Mildred (Lawrence) Moore, and passed from this life on Saturday March 10, 2018. Orval was the retired owner of the old Scobee True Value Hardware, a service assistant for Dignity Memorial, a member of Suburban Masonic Lodge #740, a former member of Victory Memorial Baptist Church, a member of Shively Baptist Church, and an Army veteran of World War II. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years the former Donna Wilcox Moore; daughters Julie Aubrey (Ken) and Susan Craven (Gary); 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 14 great grandchildren; 5 nieces, and 4 nephews including Jimmy Moore (Bonnie) who helped with Orval’s care. A celebration of Orval’s life will be held at noon on Wednesday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Interment with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
