Patrick A Cecil

Pat was born on January 22, 1956, in Louisville to Edward and Gladys Cecil. He grew up in the Highview area and graduated from Moore High School in 1975. He went on to attend the University of Louisville School of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and later obtained his Certified Public Accountant license.

Pat began his professional career at Jones, Nale & Mattingly before continuing on to PNC Bank. He later joined The Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, where he served with distinction as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Vice President before retiring.

Outside of work, Pat enjoyed a full and active life. He was an avid golfer and a proud member of The Cardinal Club, and a devoted supporter of his alma mater, the University of Louisville. In his free time, he could often be found in his woodworking shop, fishing with his brother, or in the kitchen preparing world class cuisine.

Above all else, Pat’s greatest joy was his family. He shared 47 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Glessie (together for 50 years), and they were blessed with a daughter, son-in-law, and two cherished granddaughters. Known lovingly as “Pop Pop,” Pat was his daughter and granddaughters’ biggest fan, constant encourager, and devoted supporter.

Pat was preceded in death by his father, Edward Cecil, and his sister, Becky O’Bryan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Glessie Cecil; daughter, Whitney Reddington (Matt); granddaughters, Elena and Ava; mother, Gladys Cecil; brothers, Tom Cecil (Brenda) and Mike O’Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. Funeral services will take place Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, with burial immediately following at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery.
