He was born August 26, 1927 in Greensboro, NC the son of the late Lawrence W. and Florence (Rolls) Berrier. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine; two daughters, Lana Carter and Sandra Berrier; great-granddaughter, Brianna Berrier; and five siblings, Mary, Larry, James, Bobby and Catherine.
Paul served in the US Army in the European Theatre during WWII at the age of 15, Coast Guard, the Merchant Marines, and was a lifetime member of VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of VUMS - Volunteers of Underage Military Service where he was State Commander and held national office. He was a Corporate Treasurer, a member of the Institute of Management Accountants holding multiple local and national offices where he was heavily involved with the Lincoln Trail Regional Council, Stewart Cameron McCloud Society, and most recently on the IMA Scholarship Selection Committee. He retired from Horton Fruit Company but always looked forward to the annual Christmas Party. He was also an Honorary Kentucky Colonel and a former Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff.
Survivors include his son, Paul L. Berrier, Jr. (Judy); sister, Martha Berrier; his cherished partner, Shirley Ann Lambert; grandchildren, Tim Carter, Matthew Berrier (Amanda), Paul F. Berrier (Reema), Chris Berrier, Michelle Berrier and Lynn Travis; great-grandchildren, Catherine Carter, Savannah Carter, Jonathon Berrier, Annelise Berrier, and Michael Carter.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be conducted by his family at 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Visitation will be held from 1-5 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange, KY.
