

Percy O'Lincoln Swank, a resident of Horse Branch, Kentucky, passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on October 4, 1927, in First Fork, Pennsylvania, Percy led a life marked by dedication and service.
Master Sergeant Swank proudly served in the US Army, retiring after 26 years of distinguished service. His commendable career was honored with several awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal, among others.
In his personal life, Percy was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline, who passed away in 1991. He married Melita in 1993, with whom he shared almost 32 years. Percy is survived by his wife, Melita; daughter, Beverly Tromm; stepdaughters, Wanda Bothe and Ann Froman; son, John Percy Swank; stepson, Virgil Hardin; and brother, Richard Swank. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Percy was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Ella Swank; brothers, Harold Swank, Merrill Swank, and Cecil Swank; and sisters, Glendora Swank and Annabelle Cooper.
A visitation will be held at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, located at 7710 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, on October 23, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will take place from 9:00 until the service at 11:00 am on Friday, October 24, 2025. Following the funeral, a committal service will be conducted at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY.
Percy will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his country and his family. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
