Phil was born June 29, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky, to P.M. and Betty J. Keeling. He was a 1959 graduate of Louisville Male High School and retired.
Phil was a member of Lewis-Parkland Masonic Lodge #638 for over 60 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He very seldom let an opportunity go by to wet a line or scare up a rabbit or some squirrels in which he and his brother Jerry spent many hours together in search of that world record bass.
In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by his wonderful and loving wife of 50 years, Alice Rae Bibb Keeling; and a brother and fishing buddy, Jerry R. Keeling (Sheree). He is survived by his son, Christopher W. Keeling and his wife Angie Keeling, and their three children, Carlie Jones (Stevie), Abbie Thomas (Josh), and Jacob Thomas (Julia); two grandchildren Murphie and Mabel Jones; two brothers Don C. Keeling (Sandy) and David Keeling (Susan); and a special nephew Michael Callahan (Lisa), as well as their two daughters, Erin and Emily. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.
