Philip Eugene Bruce

Philip Eugene Bruce passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2023 surrounded by family members. Philip was a caring and loving step-father, husband, brother, Grandfather, pastor and friend. Few exemplified Christ like Philip. Philip worked for the Department of Juvenile Justice, but his true passion was the congregation at Union Grove Church. He loved being their pastor, but more importantly he loved being their friend. Phil was a University of North Carolina fan although his church forgave him for this. He was an even bigger Grateful Dead fan and is most likely listening to the band as this very moment. Phil treated everyone with kindness and love and there was not a person he met with which he did not instantly connect. Phil touched countless lives and is loved and missed. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Marie Bruce, Step-Children, Stephanie Hatfield (Sonny) and Robert McIntosh (Tara), Grandson Blake Hatfield, Kelsey Heil, and Codey O’Daniel (Katie), Brother David Bruce, and Great Grand Children, Easton and Everett.

A visitation for Philip will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The American Cancer Society 900 E. Main St. Louisville, KY 40206.
