Ritz, Phillip Leo, 68, of Louisville passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2014. He was a High School Teacher for Doss High School where he had coached the girls basketball team for many years. He also taught at Moore and Fern Creek High Schools. Phillip attended St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lu Ritz; brothers, Eddie, Don, Joe, and Bob Ritz; sister, Charlotte McCue. Survivors include his brothers, Tom Ritz of San Antonio, Jim Ritz (Patti) of Salem, IN; sisters, Vera Massie of South Carolina , Mimi Stottmann-Graves (Richard), Norma Williams of Corydon, IN, Carolyn Russell (Bill); his beloved dog, Corky and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Pennsylvania Run Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the KY Humane Society.
