Rhonda Kay Raley

She is preceded in death by her father, and brother, Bill Fowler III.

Rhonda is survived by her loving husband, of 34 years, Joseph A. Raley Jr.; mother, Janis Fowler (Bill Jr.); stepmother, Ruth Spears; stepdaughter, Karen Raley Delph (David); five grandchildren (Lindsey and Brittney Crenshaw, Amanda Maum, Megan Pilato, Adam Delph), and six great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Steven Spears (Susanne), and sister, Michele Spears (David Bushnell).

She was a retired insurance agent with American National, an animal lover, avid gardner, and marvelous cook.

Rhonda was a bright light to those around her. She loved life and lived it to the fullest, even after being diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago.

Rhonda was like champagne: Sparkling, effervescent, bubbly and classy. Those of us who were blessed to have her in our lives were immersed in her joy of life. Her outward beauty was obvious, but that outward beauty was enhanced by the beauty of her soul which shone outward.

Her courage and fortitude, during the last 5 years, inspire awe. She was a rock, a sustainer to those in her life. She held her family together after losing her younger brother, 6 years ago.

Her strength of character was incredible. Her love of life did not dim. Her courage in facing her end on this earth is incredible. She fought a courageous battle, her motto being “Today is going to be a great day”.

We will always grieve for her, but we will go forward in our lives, remembering her each and every day. Remembering her contagious laugh, her get-it-done philosophy, her light she shone on all of us. To say Rhonda was a blessing to us is an understatement. We who have shared her life during her 60-years will go forward without her but none of us will ever forget her.

A Celebration of Rhonda's life will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville. Visitors are welcome at the funeral home on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 6pm-8pm and Saturday from 10 am until time of service.
