He was retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service and had later worked at the Boland - Maloney Lumber Company. Richard was a member of the VFW Post #3636 and Amvets Post #1.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Moore.
Survivors include his two children, Theresa Davis and Gary Fuqua (Meg); special family friend, Denise Zaremba; sister, Viola Harrington; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted on Thursday at 12NOON in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village. Entombment with Military Honors will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00pm - 8:30pm on Wednesday.
