

Robert “Bob” Clifford Welch, 72, beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather, was born in Louisville on August 13, 1939 and entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2012. He was a retired commodities broker for the Indiana Farm Bureau Cooperative and later owned the St. Matthews Antique Market.
Bob was a devout Christian and a longtime member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. As a young man, he was highly involved in Demolay, receiving the Chevalier Degree, being named State Master Counselor and receiving the Kentucky Demolay of the Year Award. He was a lifetime member of the Okolona Masonic Lodge F&AM 853 and a member of the Louisville Scottish Rite.
Organizations he was involved in included President of the Fern Creek Optimist Club, President of Louisville Board of Trade, President of Kentucky Feed and Grain Association, Chairman of Agribusiness Task Force of Louisville Chamber of Commerce, Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award from the University of Kentucky, Honorary County Agent for the State of Kentucky and President of the Louisville East Rotary.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Louisville; daughter, Debra Welch Stamper (J.B.); son, David Alan Welch (Michelle); his cherished grandchildren, Ashley Ann Stamper, Claire Elizabeth Welch and Hannah Nicole Welch; and brother, Philip Steven Welch.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire caring staff at Springhurst Health and Rehabilitation and to Palliative Care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 10 am Thursday, August 16, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven 4400 Bardstown Rd. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 3-8 pm Wednesday August 15, 2012.
