He was a founding partner of Hampton Appliance and a 1964 graduate of Valley High School.
Mr. Hampton was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Gertrude Hampton; and three sisters, Pat, Jessie and Janice.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Hampton; two sons, Brian Hampton (Julie) and Dennis Hampton (Tonya); eight grandchildren, Hunter, Chelby, Cameron, Ally, Karrie, Alexis, Kinsey and Bianca; a great-grandchild, Andryk; a brother, Donnie Hampton; and a sister, Bobbie Jean Armes
His funeral will be on Wednesday at 11am at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4pm until 8pm.
