Shirley was born on January 7, 1939 in Hawesville, Kentucky to the late Tobin and Artie May Nugent.
She resided in Louisville, Kentucky and retired from General Electric. Shirley was very straight forward and had a special way with words. She loved to try her luck at the casino, to read a romance novel, and spend money.
Her biggest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her five sisters and two brothers, along with her daughter Paula Tilford (David); She is survived by her lifetime friend and former spouse Harold, her sons Clinton (Kelley), Curtis (Grace), six grandchildren; Ryan, Sarah, Amber, Phillip, Curt, and Haylee, as well as six great grandchildren.
A visitation for Shirley will be held Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM.
