Steve passed on May 11, 2018, at home, as his family kept him comfortable. He was born December 12, 1950 to William and Estelle (Martin) Fischer of Louisville. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Gail Angermeier and Barbara Engleman.
Steve is survived by his wife of 48 years, Becky (Snyder) Fischer, daughter Beth (David) Clark, a sister, Debbi (Sonny) Henley, two brothers Jim and Chuck, and three grandsons Henry, Ben and Ollie Clark. He is also survived by dear friends Angela, Dusty and Avery Duvall, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Before retirement, Steve was a partner and president of Fluidaire Company. He was an avid UK fan and so enjoyed weekends in Lexington for football games. He also closely followed the Boston Red Sox. Steve was a long-time golfer in Louisville, mostly at Oldham County Country Club and in Southwest Florida.
He enjoyed cooking, card games and family gatherings. After retirement Steve and Becky moved to Cape Coral, Florida, and made life-long friends and lasting memories.
The family wishes to express its appreciation to the doctors and staff at Florida Cancer of Cape Coral, J. Graham Brown Cancer Center and the dedicated staff at Hosparus of Louisville.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 2 to 8 p.m., Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville.
Steve’s Life will celebrated on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, KY
