Born to the late Edgar Peter Hood and Joan Brenner Hood Hulsey, Gale is also preceded in passing by her brother Robin Dale Hood. Here to carry on her memory are her children; Michael “Mic” J. Ackerman and April Ackerman Fraze (Jeremy); siblings Linda Hood Gleis and John “Jody” Damian Hulsey; grandchildren Edward Vincent and Caleb Andrew Fraze; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gale will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend. She loved to garden, play on the computer, and she adored elephants. She enriched the lives of everyone who knew her with her wonderful sense of humor. A long-time diabetic, Gale would be happy to say she is finally reunited with all of her pieces.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, to honor Gale’s love for elephants we ask that you make a donation to the Louisville Zoo to help care for the animals.
