Thomas O. Johnson, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Tom was born in Birmingham, AL. He obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Mr. Johnson served in USAF in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star. He later moved to Louisville, KY where he worked at GE until retiring. He served as Treasurer for St Vincent De Paul at St Gabriel Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf, fishing and cards.
He is preceded in death by his parents William E. Johnson and Katherine Marie Hanlon, his brothers William E. Johnson II, Conrad Johnson and his sister Mary Louise Johnson.
Left to Cherish his memory is his wife JJ Johnson, his children Kathryn Bratcher (Willard), Wendy Sharp, and Thomas A. Johnson; grandchildren, Mary K. Patterson, Thomas Sharp, David Sharp, Dennis Sharp, Andrea Johnson; great grandchild Charlie Patterson; along with many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218 with a Funeral Mass Saturday July 14, 2018 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 5505 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40291. Donations can be made to KY Humane Society and St. Vincent De Paul at St. Gabriel.
