Clark, Truman, 91, entered into eternal rest on September 26, 2015 surrounded by his family. Truman was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a WWII Combat Veteran with the United States Army, retired from both Swiss Cleaners and A. Arnold & Son Transfer, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Truman was known for his smile and his big heart. He loved spending time with his family, fishing with his friends, and watching baseball.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Tommie Louise; son, William H. Major II; and siblings, Sybil Chaudion, Bonnie Froggett, Peggy Jo Cristie, Dorothy Clark, Herbert “Tinch” Clark, William Clark, and Bruce Clark.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Charleen Gadd (Buck Gadd); grandchildren, Brian Thornton, Scott Thornton, Travis Thornton, Starr Major and William Major III; 5 step grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday at noon at Evergreen Dignity Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.
