He was born on June 30, 1927 and raised in Hazard, KY by his mother Jane.
Bill was a proud veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving both in the Army and Air force in Germany and France. Bill was a retired electrician for the Ford Motor Company where he worked for 30 years. He was a Masonic member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky for over 50 years. He was also a member of the 32 Club of Kosair Shrine Temple and the Sword of Bunker Hill. Bill Loved to ride with the Sand Bugs Club of Kosair Shrine Temple. He was a lover of the outdoors, his favorite getaway was his home on Nolin Lake. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gladys Brown, their children, Marsha Blacker (Rob) Glynn Brown (Noel) and Brenda Campbell (Danny), five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, on June 14, 2018 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd with interment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. the day of the funeral.
