

He was born on July 10, 1918 to William and Louise Hase. He graduated from Ahrens Trade High School. Bill was past Scout Master for Troop 15 at St. Joseph Orphan's Home. He served in Europe in WWII with the Army 65th Division 868th Field Artillery as a Communications Specialist. On return from the War, he worked with RCA as a Service Manager and retired from the Collins Company in 1982. He and his wife Marian loved to round and square dance three to four times a week. They also enjoyed traveling extensively. Bill enjoyed being an Amateur Radio operator (W4WPK) talking to people all over the world. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marian Haas Hase; parents; sisters, Catherine Ising and Eleanora Craig; grandson, Jeffrey Baldwin.
He is survived by his daughter Carol Baldwin (Ray); grandson, Dan Baldwin (Krista) ; great-granddaughters, Jenna and Claire.
Many thanks goes out to Kim Sublett and all the caregivers at the Pillars Assisted Living Facility where he lived the last few years. Special thanks to Jean and Sam Plummer for all they did for Bill. He was always a Southern Gentleman and his outlook on life was always positive. Bill graciously took on what life challenges came his way with a smile on his face. Even in his last days, he graciously thanked people for what they did for him. And yes, he had a smile on his face.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. Visitation will be from 4-8 on Wednesday and 9-11 on Thursday. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Michael Cemetery.
