

Reunited with her beloved Richard and her precious Jesus in glory, on the morning of July 23rd, 2025.
Alice Jane Snell, was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on October 12th, 1935 to Byron and Marie (Acton) Joachim.
Janie grew up in Scottsbluff where she went through school and was a Scottsbluff Bearcat Cheerleader for many athletics. At the age of 16 years old, she fell in love with a football player for the Gering Bulldogs named Richard Snell. They were married in September of 1954 and for 70 years at the time of her passing.
Jane graduated from Scottsbluff High School and went on to graduate with an Accounting degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. In the early 1960’s, after moving back to Scottsbluff, NE, Jane and Dick had welcomed three children to the family. Jane was primarily a homemaker and later worked as a Mortgage Banker for many years, as well as providing delivery services for their Snell Pharmacy.
Jane was involved in Jobs Daughters, PEO, and other philanthropic endeavors. Jane was a respected and beloved member of the communities of the Platte Valley. There was NOT ONE person who ever met her that didn’t love her.
Jane and Dick were members of Bridge Clubs, Dance Clubs, numerous Bible Studies. Jane was a Leader of Bible Studies and Sunday Schools for many years. She was mentor and spiritual leader for many.
Upon retirement, Jane and Dick converted an old abandoned horse barn into Barn Anew Bed and Breakfast. They used their lovely facility to host weddings, community events, church functions, and it was the family hub of holidays for many years. Jane was truly the Hostess with the Mostest!
In 2008, they moved to Loveland, CO and loved everything about it. They made frequent trips to Estes Park and spent time in the Rocky Mountains. They became active in their church and she was a faithful servant for as long as her health allowed.
Jane loved hosting family gatherings, gardening, serving others, and especially long walks with her beloved “Buff”. She was a fan of the Denver Broncos and the Nuggets as well as the CU Buffalos. Above all she loved spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by Husband Richard, both Parents, her brother Jim Joachim and wife Anne, Brother-in-Law Gordon Snell and wife Barbara, and Son-in-Law Alvin Reifschneider.
She is survived by daughters Carol Frost and Susan Reifschneider, son Tom Snell and wife Judy; Grandchildren Mia (David) White, Trey (Amanda) Yarnall, Shane Yarnall, Alison (Jason) Mayes, Robin Reifschneider (Joey Stewart), Tyler (Jess) Snell, J.D. Snell, and Jessica Snell; Great Grandchildren Grace, Lincoln, Cooper, Quinn, Dylan, Axel, Ellie, Dafney and Margot.
There will be a Memorial Celebration of Life on Saturday August 9th at 11:00 am at Faith Church, in Loveland, CO. 2707 Wilson Ave. Reception to follow. Any Contributions can be made to Faith Church.
