Alice Vaundeen Walston

Alice passed away peacefully after a short illness. Alice was born to Gustine & Dora (Reimer) Fiechtner in a house in north Johnstown, Colorado. Alice spent her childhood growing up in Elwell, Colorado before moving into Johnstown.

Alice’s mom died when she was 6 yrs old, her father abandoned her at this time. She was raised by her grandmother Susan Reimer and her Uncle Ruben Reimer until her Aunt & Uncle Gus & Dora Fiechtner adopted her. Alice married Larry Walston on June 26, 1970, in Brighton, CO. Alice was a homemaker for most of her life. Alice was a member of the Johnstown Baptist Church and later attended the Mesa Baptist Church. Alice & Larry lived in Johnstown until they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they lived until health problems brought them to Colorado. Alice & Larry enjoyed taking vacation trips all over the U.S. by car. They took many trips to the Rochester, NY area to visit their daughter, son-in-law, and their grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her 2 children, Andrew (Denise) Walston of Windsor, CO, Rosemary (Martin) Baker of Perry, NY. 2 stepchildren Leann (Rick) Hursh of Loveland, CO; Richard (Victoria) Walston of Pittsburg, TX. Alice had 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Alice is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Marlene Mikels of Longmont, CO and Joan Logue of Pueblo West, CO. Alice is preceded in death by her husband of 52 yrs Larry Walston, her parents Gustine & Dora (Reimer) Fiechtner, her biological parents John & Ester (Reimer) Rothman and a baby brother Timothy Rothman. Alice lived for her children and grandchildren.

Her passing will leave a void in all our lives.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2025. At that time, Alice & Larry will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor, Colorado. A luncheon will follow.
