Bonnie was born in Waterloo, Iowa on July 24, 1936 to Kenneth and Millicent (Gilley) Friedley. She graduated high school in Waterloo and attended Iowa State University. She married Edward McCormick on March 15, 1958 and they settled into their first home in Des Moines, Iowa. After moves to Kansas City, Kansas and Omaha, Nebraska, Bonnie graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She taught for one year in Omaha Public Schools before moving to Scottsbluff, Nebraska where she opened her first antique store, Secondhand Rose. This passion for antiques took her on moves from Memphis, Tennessee to Peoria, Illinois to her final home in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2002.
She enjoyed her time with her No Book BookClub friends and spending time with her family. Her creative and free spirit has now taken wing.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter Liz (Tim) Nagaki, daughter Katie (Kevin) Callahan, sister Ann Friedley, brother Tom (Lorraine) Friedley, granddaughter Kacie (Sol) Mascarenas, grandson Kory (Courtney) Callahan, granddaughter Mara Nagaki (Tim Beard), grandson Grant Nagaki (Kyle Diener), and great-grandchildren Olivia, Griffin, Addie, and Raegan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
