Mark was born on November 9, 1950, in Abington, Pennsylvania, and spent the majority of his childhood and early life in Philadelphia. He was raised by Janet (Trauget) and Fred Davis and remained deeply connected to Pennsylvania throughout his life.
Mark completed his undergraduate studies at Albright College before earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine medical degree from the Des Moines University. For 46 years, he served as an Emergency Room physician, providing steady and compassionate care during his patients’ most difficult moments. Medicine was more than a career for Mark. It was a calling that reflected his intelligence and deep commitment to helping others.
After retiring from emergency medicine, Mark continued his work in healthcare by directing Mount Nittany Health Center for Wound Care where he applied his experience, leadership, and dedication to improving patients’ quality of life. His passion for medicine and patient care never waned.
Outside of work, Mark lived life fully and with a sense of humor that was entirely his own. He was an avid sailor and proudly held his captain’s license, allowing him to sail catamaran vessels, often in the places he loved most, especially the Virgin Islands. The water was where he felt most at home. Mark was known for his quick wit and unmistakable presence. He had a gift for making people laugh, often becoming the heart of the room without trying. His larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Above all else, Mark’s greatest joy came from his family. He loved his four daughters more than anything, and being their father was the role he cherished most.
Mark is survived by his wife, Lorelei Shaw; his daughters, Meghan Marinangeli, Sarah Shaw, Rachel See, and Morgan Shaw; his sons-in-law, Nathan See and Brady Marinangeli; his grandchildren, Bianca Marinangeli and Wendy Shaw-Glass, his brother-in-law, Tom Walsh; his sister-in-law, Debbie Walsh; his niece, Allison Wescott; and his nephew, Bryan Walsh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Janet and Fred Davis, and his brother, Kenneth Shaw.
Mark will be fiercely missed and remembered.
