Nan was born on March 8, 1937 in Greeley, CO to Marguerite (Delaney) and Neil King (of King Lumber in Loveland and Greeley). She attended Colorado College and University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Nan was a civic volunteer for much of her life and worked with organizations volunteering her time to do activities such as food delivery for Meals On Wheels, caregiver for Hospice and as a driver for SAINTs. She also was a supporter of the arts through the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh, WI and the High Plains Art Council in Loveland.
Nan was known for her spunk, quick wit, vitality, love of family and stray animals. She traveled extensively, but Estes Park and Grand Lake, held a special place in her heart. She outlived Harlan Quandt, the husband of her second marriage and also outlived Dr. David C. Loy, PhD., the husband from her first marriage.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara King Laudeman, of CA; 2 sons, David King Loy (Catherine) of MN, and John Michael Loy (LuAnn) of MI; and foster son, Wilbert Lee Hooten (Mary) of WI. She has blessed the lives of many grandchildren, Janell Loy-Robinson (Brandon) of TX, Abigail Loy of MI, Taylor Loy (Kelsie) of MI, Ashley Hooten of WI, Xavier Hooten (Lindsey) of OK; and great-grandchildren, Emory, Amara, Yuri, Nya, Lexi, Mya, Ellie and Hazel.
Honoring Nan‘s wishes, the family has chosen a private cremation and there will be no formal memorial service.
